Significant new projects are underway including transport & Port infrastructure which on completion are projected to further expand coal production levels.
Eastern Star Gas has proposed a CSG export terminal worth $2.5 billion for Newcastle Port.
Santos & ESG have submitted an application for a proposed 280-kilometre pipeline from Coolah to supply the state’s first liquefied natural gas export terminal in the Port of Newcastle.
The 62ha former Newcastle BHP site, earmarked for a shipping container terminal is currently being discussed by a local mining magnate to become another new coal loading terminal.
The new proposal would be built in stages over a decade, cost “well over $1billion” and handle up to 100 million tonnes of coal per year.
The new $1.7b F3 extension linking Newcastle to singleton is currently underway.
